I wanted a funeral director that would deliver a top quality service for my beloved Rory. Julie and her team certainly made this happen. Julie’s communication was proficient and she was very supportive and caring. The service came together beautifully and we received a lot of positive feedback from those who attended the service. This is our second time using Julie within 2 months. Firstly with my partners grandmother & now my step children's (10 & 12) father at the young age of 32 passed away.Julie is exceptional, her care & compassion for families is phenomenal. Julie's commitment & dedication to provide us the best blew our minds for a second time. Our circumstances were a bit different and we faced some challenges but this never deterred Julie. The care, compassion & empathy shown during such an awful time will never be forgotten.We can not thank Julie & her caring team enough & we feel so absolutely blessed to have her looking after our family during such a sad time.

We relied on reviews when choosing a Funeral director so I would like to share our experience with Julie @ Silkwood Funerals.Unfortunately we found Julie to feign compassion up until she didn't get her way. She was pushy and became very passive aggressive during the home visit to go over contract. We had chatted basic details over phone then arranged a home visit to go over contract. The amount was 10% higher than originally quoted (maybe GST?).When we asked to leave the contract for us to go over, she flat out refused, and kept insisting it had to be now or never. She acted as if we had just wasted her time and said find another funeral director". Needless to say we showed her the door! Bad sales tacticUpdate: Julie did NOT offer to come back

After ringing a number of Funeral Homes we came across Silkwood Funerals within minutes of speaking to the lady on the phone she put our family at ease providing lots of information and knowledge about what we needed. As a family we decided to go with this company we are so pleased we did. We were so surprised at 3 AM in the morning the two people attending our family home to transfer our beloved Googie were the owners of Silkwood Julie and Todd. From that moment everything we wanted every detail was perfect. Every time we telephone Silkwood leading up to the funeral they were there to assist us no matter what time of the day or night. The celebrate Julie recommended Kevin Clune it was like he knew our Googie. Without a doubt we would recommend Silkwood Funerals and the team they were amazing. Cannot recommend Julies company enough for their caring approach and willingness to cater for individual needs. We lost our brother recently and he was very definite about not wanting a funeral, Julie worked with my sister and I within our limited budget to give us exactly the farewell we wanted whilst still keeping to his wishes.
